Welcome to WasteServ.

Safety is our absolute priority. For this reason, we kindly ask you to go over our quality, environmental, health and safety procedures. These procedures apply to all visitors, including waste carriers, contractors, and their employees.

Entry to our facilities

Upon entry, visitors would need to check in at WasteServ’s Security or Reception area where they will also be given a visitor’s tag. This information may be used in case of an emergency. All visitors shall be always accompanied by a WasteServ host whilst on WasteServ’s premises. The host will be able to ensure your health and safety, particularly in case of emergency. Before leaving our facility, visitors must return the visitor’s tag to check out.

Waste carriers, on the other hand, must first go to the facility’s weighbridge to register. Waste carriers must adhere to any instructions given by WasteServ personnel and must follow the site rules while on our premises.

Contractors and their employees can only enter our premises if they have a valid work permit and have attended health and safety training.

Emergency Response

In case of fire, immediately raise the alarm by pressing the nearest manual call point, and then leave the area using the nearest emergency exit.

  • Do not attempt to put out the fire.
  • When the fire alarm sounds, you must evacuate the area immediately.
  • Do not take any personal belongings.
  • Never use the lift during a fire alarm activation.

Proceed to the nearest marked emergency exit. Emergency exit signs and fire safety drawings can be found at strategic points around the facility. These should assist you in finding the safest and closest exit. For ease of reference, you can find the fire safety drawings for each facility here.

Once outside the facility, go to the designated Assembly Point and remain there unless instructed to do otherwise.

In case of injury or if you are feeling unwell, ask your host or relevant personnel for assistance. The nearest first aider shall be able to assist you. There are First Aid Rooms at every facility that are available to all visitors, if required. WasteServ also has a medical unit that can assist whenever necessary.

All workplace incidents, hazardous conditions, or near misses must be reported immediately to the host in case of visitors or to the Officer in Charge in case of contractors and their employees. These will then inform the Health & Safety Department in line with the Company’s internal procedures.

Waste carriers are to inform their inspectors or WasteServ operatives who will then inform the Health & Safety Department in line with the Company’s internal procedures.
