- Proven experience as a Chief Operating Officer or in a similar/relevant role;
- Understanding of business functions such as HR, Finance, and process optimisation;
- Demonstrable competency in strategic planning and business development;
- Experience in project management;
- Working knowledge of data analysis and performance/operations metrics;
- Proficiency in IT/Business infrastructure and MS Office;
- Outstanding organisational and leadership abilities;
- Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills;
- Aptitude for decision-making and problem-solving;
- Commitment to excellence;
- Ability to plan, develop, prioritise, and execute complex business solutions;
- Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills;
- Ability to conduct complex business analysis, including costing models for investment in capital assets with lifecycle costing and analysis;
Leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills;
- Experience with complex contract negotiations;
- Knowledge of municipal community services such as solid waste management for residents, commercial enterprises, and institutions;
Understanding of regulatory requirements and restrictions (e.g., permits, Health & Safety);
- Experience in reporting to a CEO and excellent report-writing skills.
