WasteServ through its Contractor - OZO Services is seeking to recruit a Senior Technical Officer – Electrical Technician.
Position: Senior Technical Officer – Electrical Technician
General Overview of Responsibilities
- To be responsible for the daily management of the maintenance of the plant;
- To conduct daily inspections and plan the necessary work with the plant engineer;
- Supervision of personnel and aid personnel when required;
- To supervise/carry out the necessary preventive maintenance and corrective maintenance repairs and maintenance in accordance with the diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, training programs, and manufacturers’ specifications;
- To trace technical faults, perform root cause analysis and solve problems;
- To make sure that the completed works meet all safety standards;
- To assume ultimate responsibility at all times for the assigned duties and maintenance works during one’s shift;
- To ensure a high quality/standard of work according to health and safety regulations;
- To ensure and maintain a clean workspace and workshop, organized moving parts and tools;
- To ensure that the area where works are conducted is cleaned properly before and after the assigned job and the correct organization of used parts and tools after completion of works;
- To perform maintenance checks during, before and after plant operations;
- To compile and maintain all pertinent documentation on maintenance software and all the necessary maintenance job sheets and other documentation as required by the Plant Engineer;
- Attend all obligatory training as required by the company to be able to fulfil the role whilst obtaining the relevant knowledge, skills and techniques;
- To perform any jobs related to your duties.
Eligibility Criteria
- In possession of an MQF Levels 5 MCAST Undergraduate Diploma in Foundations of Engineering or equivalent from a qualified institution)
OR
- In possession of an MQF Levels 4 MCAST Advanced Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a qualified institution);
- In possession of Electrical Licences A and B;
- Ability to follow Safety Standards;
- Strong analytical and reasoning abilities;
- Strong leadership skills;
- A hands-on approach with an eye for detail and good workmanship quality;
- Satisfactory verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese and IT Literate;
- The ability to identify, analyse and solve problems;
- The ability to work on own initiative;
- Any related work experience and supervision of a team will be considered an asset;
- Have a valid & clean Police Conduct (A copy must be presented with the application)
- Welding Certificate (MIG/MAW/TIG) will be considered an asset;
- Driving Licence in B and C1 categories will be considered an asset.
