WasteServ through its Contractor - OZO Services is seeking to recruit a Head of Shift.  

Position: Head of Shift   

General Overview of Responsibilities  

• Reporting to the Plant Engineer, the selected candidate shall be responsible for the daily  management and operations of the plant as well as making sure that the plant achieves optimal utilization; 
• The Head of Shift shall be conducting daily inspections as well as setting procedures, compiling reports, assuming technical responsibilities for fault finding, ensuring that all operational sheets (SCADA, Lifters, etc.) are filled in correctly on a daily basis by employees and liaising with the maintenance team; 
• The role also involves training personnel, SCADA knowledge and ensuring that health and safety procedures are adhered to;
• The role will entail that the Head of Shift will be the ultimate responsible person onsite at all times, especially in the absence of the engineers; 
• The Head of Shift will guide the Scada Operator and Supervisor accordingly to ensure that housekeeping is done appropriately in a timely manner and perform constant checks before, during and after plant operations;
• Daily logging of personnel overtime and ensuring that leave is entitled to employees in a responsible manner; 
• Performing any duties as deemed fit by the company exigencies. 
  

• The ideal candidate must have a Level 5 qualification and 1 year experience in a supervisory role OR a Level 4 qualification and 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role OR have a minimum of 10 years experience in a supervisory role;   
• Be IT competent and proficient in both Maltese and English; 
• Have the know-how of operating heavy plant and a meticulous approach towards safety are a must; 
• SCADA knowledge and a keen eye to detail will be considered as an asset; 
• Able to work both in a team and with minimum supervision is also necessary.
