Location

Waste from commercial entities can be accepted at the Civic Amenity Sites located in Ħal Far, Ta’ Qali and Tal-Kus (Xewkija, Gozo). These Civic Amenity Sites are open from Monday to Sunday, including public holidays, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (excluding Christmas Day and New Year’s Day).

How does it Work?

Different levels of access apply depending on your vehicle category:

Only vehicles falling under these three categories are permitted entry to our Civic Amenity Sites.  Permits can be obtained from a Civic Amenity Site, by calling Customer Care in advance, or by completing this form. 

For material that goes beyond the free entry outlined above, fees are calculated based on the weight and type of waste.  If different types of materials are being disposed of, the client must ensure that each material is separated, as these must be weighed individually to calculate the respective fee in accordance with the fee structure below. Each material should then be disposed of normally in the designated container.

* Rates are per 100kg and are subject to VAT. 

Payments can be made by cash, card, or cheque (for amounts above €20).

Before you Visit   

• All waste must be separated and sorted beforehand. 
• Entry to a Civic Amenity Site is only permitted with a vehicle. 
• It is mandatory to wear a high-visibility vest and safety shoes. 
• If you need guidance, please ask our site staff.

Recyclables  

• Plastics accepted include: PET, HDPE, PP, PS 
• Cardboard 
• Paper 
• Metal Cans 
• Glass packaging

Flat Glass  

• Glass panes 
• Insulating glass

Textiles  

• Torn or stained carpets and rugs 
• Torn or stained textiles such as clothes, bed sheets, curtains and towels

Wood  

• Wooden pallets 
• Wood offcuts 
• Furniture 

Mattresses  

• Any sized mattress of any type

Gypsum*

• Gypsum boards 
• Gypsum panels 

Expanded Polystyrene

• Packaging EPS 
• Loose fill packaging (packing peanuts) 

Please note that our Civic Amenity Sites do not accept organic waste or mixed waste. WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), tyres, and construction waste from commercial entities are also not accepted.
